Doula Services

Birth doula services
Prenatal visits

2 to 3 prenatal visits will help us get to know each other and discuss your birth preferences, answer any questions you may have and prepare for an informed and comfortable birth experience. I also remain available to answer any questions by phone, text and email.

Birth support

Your doula will be on call for you 24/7. As soon as you feel the need for support, I will join you and provide physical and emotional support throughout the birthing process. I will help you stay calm and focused and encourage you to make informed decisions about your birth. I will stay throughout the birth and up to 2 hours postpartum to ensure you are comfortable.

I support partners and family members throughout the birthing process and can help them understand the process, medical interventions and will offer tips and work with them to best support the birthing mother.

As a doula, i do not perform any medical acts. For more information about the differences between doulas, midwives, OBs and GPs, please read Birth takes a Village’s great article.

Postpartum visits

I offer 1 to 2 postpartum visits to check on you and baby, offer support with early parenting and breastfeeding and answer any questions you may have about your birth.

Birth supplies

If you are preparing for a homebirth, I offer the use of a professional birth pool. I will set it up and take it down after the birth.

I have a TENS unit available for all my birthing clients.

Lending Library

I have a wide variety of books, DVDs and educational resources available for my clients to borrow.

Skills I bring
I am trained to support women and families using both HypnoBabies and HypnoBirthing or other techniques of self-hypnosis for childbirth.

I bring extensive experience with the Rebozo, a Mexican shawl, to provide comfort in childbirth and help with positioning.

I have extensive training with optimal foetal positioning and can help achieve the best positions for your baby to be born.

I provide specific support for clients preparing a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean)

I am also trained in supporting women through perinatal loss and abortion.
